Description: Idea of Element

Form of an element (στοιχεῖον) or primitive body (τὸ πρεσβύτατον σῶμα). The elements (fire, air, water, earth) are eternal, but are mixed together in transient forms and mortal bodies. The four elements emanate from Leto, Hekate, Tethys, and Hestia, respectively.
